About LIC ADO

Life Insurance Corporation of India, LIC, is one of the biggest government owned insurance companies in India. Every year LIC conducts the ADO, Apprentice Development Officer Exam in order to recruit eligible candidates for the post.

The selected candidate's job profile will require him or her to take the responsibility of recruiting people as LIC Insurance Agents. The Apprentice Development Officer will have to supervise the Insurance Agents’ performance and also inspect their existing policies. An ADO will have to work in both rural and urban areas in India.

Eligibility

People who can apply for the LIC ADO post need to fulfill the following requirements-

-         Are within the age limit of 21 to 30 years of age.

-         Must have a Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field

-         Should have some work experience in the associated field

Exam Pattern

The LIC ADO Exam is conducted in three phases-

-         Prelims Exam

-         Mains Exam

-         Interview

After the completion of the Interview, selected candidates also need to go through a Medical Examination in order to certify their fitness.

Subjects And Their Individual Weightage

First, in the Prelims exam here are the following sections-

-         Reasoning Ability- 35 questions, 35 marks, 20 minutes

-         Numerical Ability- 35 questions, 35 marks, 20 minutes

-         English- 30 questions, 30 marks (considered only for qualifying), 20 minutes

Finally, for the Mains exam, following are the sections of the paper-

-         Reasoning Ability and Numerical Ability- 50 questions, 50 marks

-         General Knowledge, Current Affairs, and English Language with special emphasis on grammar and vocabulary- 50 questions, 50 marks

-         Insurance and Financial Marketing Awareness with special emphasis on knowledge of Life Insurance and Financial Sector- 50 questions, 50 marks

For the Mains exam, candidates are assigned 120 minutes in total to complete the exam.
